Crystal City, Pentagon City, and National Landing are interconnected communities in the northern Virginia city of Arlington and are highly sought-after residential enclaves of the broader DC metro area.
Recently, National Landing has become particularly notable as the future site of Amazon’s HQ2, which has brought a rapid increase in residential and commercial development to the area.

These areas are known as top destinations for shopping, dining, and more. One of the best shopping centers is the aforementioned Pentagon City Mall, where you’ll find an array of retailers, including high-end options like Kate Spade and Nordstrom. The area is also home to many excellent restaurants such as Fyve Restaurant Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, which is known as one of the area’s best fine dining experiences. Fyve Restaurant serves a delicious selection of chef-created items, handcrafted cocktails, and a beloved weekend brunch menu.
For a more casual outing with family and friends, try Wiseguy Pizza. This local DC chain is a favorite for fresh, by-the-slice pizza that makes the perfect quick lunch, and they offer a great variety of options, including vegetarian fare. Arlington will also soon be home to a location of the nationally-renowned Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, where theater-goers can enjoy drinks and fresh food in a relaxing environment during their movie.
Things to Do
Though Crystal City, Pentagon City, and National Landing allow for convenient urban living, they also have a suburban sensibility with great opportunities to get outdoors and stay active. One popular place to spend some time getting fit is Earth Treks-Indoor Rock Climbing, where you’ll find a massive facility outfitted for all types of climbing training, along with group classes, private instruction, cardio and strength training areas, and more. You can also head over to Crystal City Workout Park, which features volleyball courts, basketball hoops, and workout equipment in a charming natural setting.
Several other exciting attractions will be heading to the area soon, including a Bowlero, which will offer a revamped bowling experience complete with bowling, games, and dining, as well as the Long Bridge Aquatics Center, which will contain several pools, community rooms, and a fitness center.
